The Kid Is (Almost) All Right

David Pauley pitches a gem

Raise your hand if you stood up in your living room and gave David Pauley a standing ovation as he left the game in the seventh inning.

Uhmm...okay, maybe that was just me. I was moved to cheer the impressive and poised pitching performance by the kid. Too bad the Sox couldn't provide him with some run support.

Raise your hand if you hurled a piece of chocolate cake at the television when Rudy Seanez walked in the go ahead run.

I thought so. It was unnerving that Seanez was the Sox "go to guy" with the game on the line, but considering the depleted bullpen, who else should Terry Francona have gone to in that situation?

Are any Sox fans still cheering for Damon?

A couple more questions:

1. Are any Red Sox fans still cheering for Johnny Damon? I hope not. His little celebration following Melky Cabrera's game saving catch was more than any self-respecting Sox fan could take.

2. What is the deal with the Yankees making curtain calls after every home run?

Tonight: Curt Schilling vs. Jaret Wright 7:05/4:05 PT - Go Sox!

Wah Wah Wah!!!! What is the deal with all of you Boston fans whining over everything??!! Really. All of your comments are so predictable. You know you'd have nothing to say if Manny made that catch or if Boston fans wanted all of the curtain calls. Get used to it because thats how it is at the stadium. Its been like that for years, (although I do agree sometimes its a bit too much) But its the crowd who wants it and the Yankees are not too cocky to acknowledge it, thats all.
Ya know, the "fans" are the ones who take this rivialry way too seriously. The players actually get along, and they're the ones getting paid. But I guess some people are just way too obsessed and have nothing better to do than to put down one of the greatest teams in sports history. (Thats something you cant deny because its a proven fact, so if you're actually a baseball fan you'd admit it)
If you want to be a real fan stop all of your complaining about the Yankees and start enjoying the Red Sox because thats what real fans do and its all getting really old anyway.
