The ultimate "lager delivery system"

The ultimate lager delivery system

I would typically characterize myself as a "Harpoon girl" if asked about my loyalty to Boston breweries,* --but-- I have to admit that the "ultimate pint glass" unveiled by Sam Adams this week is awfully nifty. From Boston.com:

"Wine lovers have long used crystal stemware to help experience the exquisite nose of a French merlot or a frisky Australian vin ordinaire, and now the Boston brewer thinks beer connoisseurs have achieved a similar level of discernment when it comes to appreciating state-of-the-art advances in lager delivery-systems."

Err...yeah..."lager delivery-system?" More likely, beer connoisseurs will just be excited to drink out of a cool glass. I do like the statement about the rim in the diagram above: "Bead inside rim creates turbulence to release flavor and aromas as beer enters mouth." Turbulence!

Sets of four "ultimate glasses" are available at samueladams.com for $30.

*Who would ask? If anyone did actually ask, I would also say that since I am now living in Seattle, Washington and have no access to Harpoon, my current loyalties lie with the Pyramid Brewery where they brew up a delicious Curve Ball Ale (try one!) which is not and never will be served in the above pictured "ultimate glass."
